It’s sobering to know others are watching us.

What do they see when they observe your life?

We all hope that those closest to us see the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, and self-control… But let’s be honest: when we are running late, trying to get everyone out the door for work and school, we wouldn’t exactly want any hidden cameras around.

In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul boldly says “You should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.” This command seems simple, but it can be difficult to live up to at times.

6 Simple Ways to Imitate Christ:

  1. Be kind and forgive (Ephesians 4:32)
  2. Respect others (1 Peter 2:17)
  3. Love deeply (1 Peter 4:8)
  4. Answer gently (Proverbs 15:1)
  5. Be a person of prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)
  6. Seek wisdom (Proverbs 24:3)

You don’t have to perfect! Paul wasn’t.

But like Paul, we can strive to be an example others can follow, living our lives in such a way that we point others to our perfect, loving Savior.
